The Process of Prayer

Prayer works according to a process that is governed by spiritual law. God produces the results to prayer according to the power that works in us. That power is the word of God.

God is able to do super-abundantly, far over and above all that we ask or think (infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams) - according to the power that works in us. (Ephesians 3:20)

We need to build and protect that power. The process is basically sowing and reaping. We sow the word of God and reap the result it produces.  The process is simple and easy to understand. It is far less easily done.

The process of prayer varies a little depending on the purpose of the prayer. Generally the following process fits all types of prayer.
  • Preparation
    • Sow the word of God into your heart
      • overcome Satan when he comes immediately to take away the word sown
      • keep cares of this life from choking the word
      • keep the pleasures of this life from choking the word
      • keep desires for other things from choking the word
      • keep wrong beliefs from choking the word
    • Measure according to truth
      • measure the will of God regarding the results to be produced
      • measure meeting the requirements
      • measure the steps to take in the prayer
  • Praying the prayer
    • Measure taking the required steps
    • Measure meeting the requirements
    • Measure the status of the prayer
    • Measure the results of the prayer
